All Clear
I had a renal u/s done today to check on my kidneys. I had an MRI done almost 4 years ago and I for some reason recall them saying that there wasn't anything wrong with my kidneys. However, the MRI report never once mentioned anything about my kidneys. My own limited knowledge of human anatomy based off of college anatomy class and my even more limited knowledge on reading MRIs, led me to believe I could see two kidneys on the films. My RE suggested that we check out the kidneys again just to be sure, plus to make sure that if I had two kidneys, I also had two ureters (tubes leading from the kidney to the bladder).
I had an u/s tech and a student in the room checking me out today. I told the student about my messed up uterus and she gave me a look that pretty much told me she had no idea that having half a uterus was a possibility. When the u/s tech came in, she asked me what kind of MA I had, although stumbled over her words and didn't actually say Mullarian Anomaly. I told them they could check out my uterus if they wanted to, thinking it wasn't something they would see everyday and could be a good teaching moment. The u/s tech looked at me like I was a freak. Which, maybe I am.
All is good in there though - unless you count the half a uterus thing of course. They could see urine entering the bladder from two different places which leads them to believe I have two ureters. I also have two kidneys. Because of how I was laying on the table, I only got to see the left one, and asked the tech some questions so I knew what I was looking at. She said my kidneys are "beautiful". I truly am beautiful both inside and out.
DH got a call from his urologist today. He had to do a second round of antibiotics and Ibuprofen and another SA since after his last one he still had white blood cells in his semen and his morphology was on the low side. His last SA was last week and all of his numbers were within the normal range and the white blood cells were gone. Yay!
Although this evening he was complaining that one of his tubes that carries the sperm from the testes hurt. (Is that the vas deferans? I am too lazy to look it up.) I am blaming it on lack of use since it has been more than a month since we had sex. I am supposed to be cleared by my RE first at my post-op appointment but I decided that after my period was over, we were going to go for a roll in the hay. That would be tonight. Except I am exhausted from going out last night so now that will be tomorrow.
